Well, I thought it was funny, but he didn't.

Saw a guy in the ditch on my way home tonight. I stopped to pull him out. He was drunk. I told him I'd try to get him out before the cops came. I grabbed a chain and my tow strap and told him to hook up the chain to his truck. He couldn't get it around the frame because the truck was buried up to the frame, so he hooked it to his upper radiator mounting bracket. I told him not to put it there, but he said it would be fine so long as I went slow. I told him it was his truck and his decision, so I locked in the hubs, put it in 4 low and granny gear and started pulling forward. I stopped as quick as I could when I saw that I pulled the whole mounting bracket and grill out about 6 inches. His next brilliant idea was to just hook the chain to the bumper. Well I bent about 1/4 of his bumper so it was sticking straight out. But hey, with the bumper bent out, he was able to hook the chain to his frame. I had just started dragging him out of the ditch when I saw red and blue lights flashing behind him.

This poor guy is going to wake up in jail and be pretty pissed about a DUI, then go pick up his truck from impound and probably start crying when he sees what he thought was a good idea.

I learned a long time ago not to argue with a drunk guy. You will never win. So, I let him figure it out the hard way.

Maybe he should have tangled himself in it, and hold onto the truck, see if that works.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest point, lol.
