SOTM 2013

Well guys it is that time again for Smoke On The Mountain... Other forums are starting to talk about it so I wanted to throw it out there for us to discuss... It LOOKS LIKE it is to be planned for the 19th of October for now...

Things will probably be a little different this year due to the events during last year. Things like it might be split into two groups about 15 minutes apart, and having written rules given to all drivers at the start of the event.

here is a copy of the background that I took from the 2012 thread that Scott started. hope he don't mind as it will give us all some insight as to what this is all about!

For those who don't know what this is, Smoke on the Mountain was started in 2004 by some Dodge guys. Over the years it has evolved to include all makes of diesels. In the past we meet have met in Chehallis at Spiffy's (Exit 68) and convoy to the Johnson Ridge observatory.

On the way to Johnson Ridge we stop at a food bank and make a donation. Please bring any non-perishable food item that you can. We also make a few other stops to stretch and take pics. Once we get to Johnson Ridge kind of goes thier own way. Some make lunch, take pictures, etc. A CB is VERY handy to have but not required for this trip.

Eli, do you know if anyone has contacted the food bank? I looked for their phone number and cannot find it. I will keep looking.

Hopefully this year's event will have a better turnout of responsible diesel truck enthusiasts. I know there were many people who have attended this event for many years who said they may not participate again.

If the date stays the same I won't be able to make it. The 19th is our anniversary so that takes priority.

Side note, I just read the thread on the NW Bombers site about SOTM 2013 and it was interesting to see how they think of Ford drivers in the same light as we typically think of Dodge drivers.

Scott this place looks about right address wise. I will be a maybe for now, work drives my free time at this point.

Matt funny that the Ford guys are in a bad light since it was a Dodge that went head on last year. On the way up that was the only incident, up there and on the way back there were quit a few people driving dumb of all makes.

If it ends up being on the 19th I probably won't be able to make it this year.
