you'd think it was opening teal, but no it was opening duck. at that time it was still to warm to bring the big ducks down.

For sure! We went out in the first big storm last weekend and NADA! No birds even breaking 100 yards. We did take a run at a pair that were well in range, and we WHIFFED! Oh-well, at least the warm barrel kept my hands warm for a few minutes!

Well after sitting out the 75 degree weather for three weeks we decided to go out this morning since the morning temp has been dipping into the 30's and 40's we figured the birds might be moving a little more than last time. We bagged 10 whitefront geese and a mallard.

Not bad for a early season hunt.

Here I am showing off some loot!

This is my buddy Casey showing his birds!

And here is a final shot of my take, 5 geese and a mallard

I haven't been out near as much as I usually am but here are a few pics from last weekend, and from Christmas eve

This is Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge and some of our "pack on your back" decoys, where I had the #1 draw on 12/20

Here are a couple of green wing teal, and a Sprig (northern pintail)

Here are a couple more green wing teal, and my trusty shotgun(Winchester SuperX2) with the patternmaster ported choke tube

Here are 5 Widgeon that I shot on Christmas eve at my club

I let this one come in a little TOO close
