Rodslinger,
I say Good Call! You have the axis to fill the freezer.
I'd have passed too.
Its hard, but if you didn't pass them up, what would chase does in your dreams till next season?
Once I started trying for bigger deer, I shot 2 8ptrs about that size in 4 years, and was pretty proud of myself, but then I decided it was HOG or nothing. Waited 2 more years, then decided to break my bow in on a small fawn that had been standing around too long. I shot that little guy and was gathering my things to climb down when I saw the HOG I'd been waiting on. He of course was standing on the trail the fawn had come in on an hour earlier, he was headed to pass 20yds in front of me, but was now staring at me from a comfortable 75 yds away. Oh, I've never been so mad at myself. Completly blew 6+yrs of waiting. No HOG that year either, but I believe I caught back up with him the next year. About 200 yds up the creek at 1:00 in the afternoon, 1 year ago (11/5/05). I'll post the pic in my garage if I can get it figured out.

Clay, You should have found a picture of that hoss with his whole body, then you could claim him for the Big Buck contest. I guess you could photoshop your head in there somewhere.
Gosh what a brute, I'd probably think I was still sleeping if I saw him walk throught the woods on me. Deer would get off lucky. Of Course when the squirrels reminded me I wasn't sleeping, I'd sure be mad.

Nah, I just saw this in an email that went around this morning.
If it were mine, trust me you would see me all over the pictures!

Yes, I believe if that was yours, we could go ahead and close the contest. Pretty sure you'd win.
