big buck contest

I was wondering how many of you would be interested in a big buck contest. This is how it would work if we could set it up the only thing you win is bragging rights for a year. Just submit your photos of the buck you take and who ever has the biggest buck wins. While posting the photos please be honest with the size and pictures must show the tag for the animal I do not know of any state that allows hunting where you do not have to tag the animal after you take it. How many would be interested in this.

Good idea, but... Sc -no tag required except from public land and then all you have to do is check the deer in at the game station. There is no tag. Also, how are you judjing? Scoring or by the photo looks? I am interested in this, if I can only find abuck worth taking. And if not, Ill post a pic of one of my does!!!

big buck contest

Hey Marc since an elk is a cow or a bull sorry won't qualify. As for scoring. my idea is we either score according to the book which is measure the tines with a tape measure and add up the inches and that is the score or we go with how many points the deer scores. The simplest way is to count the points and that would be the score in a tie breaker as in you have two guys that have the same size buck then we could actually measure out the tines for a score. But any input on how to score this contest would be good. Right now I am just looking to see if members that hunt would be interested and if they are then we can work out the details. As well when this contest will officially start and end. In michigan it starts Oct. 1st for bow as you can see with my 9 point. The season ends Jan.1st 2007. The ideal way to do this is We go with the average date of when deer seasons start lets say Nov. 1st and we go with when the average date of that the season ends like Jan. 1st we score the simplest way by number of points and points must be 1 inch or longer. I will come up with all the rules by sunday and post them if we all agree to the rules then the contest will start I will also need to know how many people will be in the contest you can simply enter by responding to this thread and saying i'm in contest entry can start sunday as I will have the rules posted on here by sunday 6am est time. Entry to the contest will end the night before the contest actually starts.

big buck contest

Ok your in I am in there for lets go ahead and do this. The rules are simple.
1. Be a gentleman no bad talking any opponents trophy.
2. Only deer taken on or after the start date will be allowed in the contest.
3. All deer must be taken legally with in the state you hunt in.
4. OnlyPictures that show full body of the deer will be allowed and must have a date of taken on it.

5. You may not enter after the start date.
6. All site rules must be obeyed as in for posting photos and adding to the thread.

These are the rules for the contest I will have one of the site administrators approve the rules and add any rules they feel should be applied as well. Start date will be Nov.1st the contest will end Jan.1st

Any questions please refer them to myself or the site administrator that apporves this contest.

I will post the site administrators screen name that will have full control of this contest in my next response to this as well. I am going to exclude myself from the contest as I am the one that had the idea and I feel that I set up the rules there for I feel I should not be in the contest due to staying bias. All though I will post pictures of the deer I take through out my hunting season on this site.

thats funny marc cuz i have alot of 19-24 inch white tale, Last year Kahla won the local big buck contest, she won a 1500 dollar gift card good for anything in sportsmens wherehouse. the deer was 22 and 1/3 inches, and had a field dressed weight of 224lbs. Its was a monster, i first thought it was a mule deer.

Well Y'all know me and CurlySue are in - but I think we're only gonna take Axis this year to thin them out, so I may end up like Marc and not have one that qualifies.
