Proud Dad!

My 10 year old son shot a red stag yesterday. Couldn't figure out how to get the pictures on here so I put them in my "garage" pictures. He's not a very big one, but he was pretty sick so he had to go. I just about took him out of school early so he could shoot him before he died . Luckily he was still alive when he got out of school. Made a good shot in the neck at 150 yards with his 223. Bad part was he was by a tank and ran about 20 yards out in the tank before going down. Guess who had to go swimming..............

Thanks guys, he couldn't be happier. Being the manager here I normally wouldn't have a chance for him to shoot one, but this one would have been dead in a day anyway.
DiscountPowerParts, that is a pretty young one (about 3yrs). They get a LOT bigger than that. I'll have to post a pic later this year when we take a good one.
Just took him dove hunting yesterday and he shot his first dove. Been a big weekend for him.

Cibolo74, the ranch is in Frio County. We do hunts, but it is owned by a large company and they only bring out clients. If you have someone looking for a whitetail hunt, I can find them one as big as they want. All it takes these days is $$$$$$$$ and lots of it to kill a nice B&C buck.

Hunting is BIG business - especially in Texas. I know of 'ol boys who pay upwards of 12K to kill a nice buck - but they make a crap load more a year than I do so more power to them.

thanks ranch, are you near the hines place down there. they have some excellent tracking dogs, but anyways i have people asking me from time to time of some good package hunts,(and there are a lot of scams out there)most of the time there looking for a cull or management hunt 1,500 to 3,000 range. wich is insane considering we hunted down there for years and in mexico and payed no more than 2k for year around. but it is big business now and hunting can make a rancher more than running cows.remember the good days when you could lease land for cattle and get the hunting rights to.
also if you have access to any ranches that just want hogs taken out let me know.
