New Gundog!

I got me a new Gundog this past Sunday. His name is Mac and he is a 13 week old Chocolate lab. I plan on training him to retrieve Doves and Ducks. I also hope he will be able to flush Quail also. Anyway, here he is and I will update on my progress with him

I forgot to add. I took Mac hunting yesterday to see if he is gun shy. He is not one bit gun shy. I think he enjoys the shotguns going off.

Nice lookin dog man.

I was getting my dog used to guns last weekend. By the time we were done shooting clays, he didn't even flinch anymore, so he's getting there.

Mac didn't even flinch. I swear I thought he was about to fetch the wad until he saw the shell eject on the ground.

We didn't see any birds so I just shot a few times in the air. I'm hoping to start really training him tomorrow.

Casper loves having a friend to play with. I do hate leaving Casper behind when I take Mac though.

Mac now knows how to sit and lay down. He's pretty good at sitting but laying down needs some work. At least he knows what it means.
