Let's Talk Game Cameras

I got into using game cameras last year and wondered what took me so long to get on-board. I didn't want to spend a ton so I picked up a Moultrie MFH-DGS-100V2 for about $85 and all in all was VERY happy with it.
I learned last year there is a learning curve to like - don't place it near a lot of moving branches, don't face it towards sunrise or sunset, how to set the delay depending on what you're watching, battery life and memory capacity. All in all I think I've got it down and am picking up a couple more for this year. I figure I'll stick with the same model since I was happy with it and the price is great. I'm adding solar recharger's and solar batteries ($25 for the solar recharger and about $10 for the battery) and maxing out the memory capacity to 1GB SD cards. It's usually a few weeks between trips out to the ranch so I need to maximize my time coverage.
What are y'all using and have any tips, tricks, or lessons learned?

It IS cheating!! HA

And I don't think he'll need the 12V since he has the solar recharger and rechargeable batteries...

No it's not cheating!

I'm 5 hours from our ranch - I need every advantage I can get since I can't be out there all the time. Some of the deer I saw last year on camera I never saw in real life and vise versa.

Have you looked into what they use trying to catch sasquatch on camera?? Not joking here.

I believe they need long periods in between also. Plus it can snap shots in the dark too.

Do you have a motion sensor on there? Just asking since I'm not familiar with the camera you have.

"sasquatch" - you're kidding right?

Yes the camera I have is motion activated and has a flash so it'll take shots at night too. It can do (as I recall) 15 sec video clips if you want but I just use it for stills.

I bought 2 of them for the ranch about 5 years ago when a 35mm was almost $400!!! Now you can get digital ones for a lot less. They worked great until woodpeckers pecked out the motion sensors. Thats what I get for straping something that looked like wood to a tree.
