browning citori apprasial

Can someone on here tell me what they think a 1973 browning pre type 1 citori is worth? It looks to have just a regular wood finish. Its in excelenet shape with just a tiny bit of pitting on the front of the barrels. I dont think it has everbeen shot, if it has it was very very lightly used maybe 5 shots max. There is no pattern in the barrels. Thanks

Wish I could help you out bud... I've got one, not sure of the date of the manufacture, but its the older style that takes the original invector screw in chokes. I bought mine second hand from a buddy of mine for $725 and that was 5 years ago. As far as a true value for what you've got, hopefully somebody alot smarter than me comes along and helps you out.

Ok he said it would be worth 950-975 if it was 95-99%, It would sell at a dealer for close to 1,150. He said that the older thos guns get the more they increse in value. He also said with the pitting in the barrel it would be some where in the 750 doller range with out seeing it.

Hey thanks Alan....

Mavsps, I'll need a bit more info to get it down for you. The Citori has been manf. in several incarnations over the years. Is it the Hunting series, or Special Feild, Sporting Clay, Trap, Sp. Sport, Pigeon, Featherweight etc...? It would be nothing more than a stab in the dark without a bit more info. Also you mentioned "type 1" did you mean 'grade 1" Does it have chokes? What color ids the wood? What length is the bbl? What color is the receiver? The value will vary from $450-$4200 depending on exactly what you have. PM me I can call you you, and do a letter of appraisal for you. A gun like that you won't want to guess at, you may have something exceptional. Let me know, I am a certified NRA/PPGS appriaser. I'll be happy to do it for you.
