Pro Shop Vent

Ok this may not be the place for this. But anyways have any of you other guys walk into an Archery Pro-Shop. Then the subject of a certain rest for a bow comes up in discussion. The tech is just completely doggin the rest that is the paticular one you use.

But that is ok because then you go outside his shop and see his white dually Dodge C ummins that you smoke at least 2 times a week because it moves so slow.

So then you feel better.

Yeah

My dad and I shoot competition archery. He actually is a staff shooter for Hoyt. I'm a lil too busy to get back into it that far. But I still love it. He is also a pro shop tech for the shop he shoots for. You might have heard of them. Its a big Chain up north. Sheels All Sports.

Hey jon what is your opinion on the whisker biscuit. I have been shooting it since it came out on the market.

Well

It is an excellent hunting rest. It is great for the shots right below your tree. I personally have tried one on 2 diff bows and seen atleast 20 fps loss with them. I dont use one but know many that do. Not a wise choice for our competition shooting.

I use a Trophey Taker drop away for hunting and competition as does my dad.

I use it I mostly hunt. I do 3d shoots in the off season to keep me in shape. As in keep my eye for measuring distance in tact and some good practice. I am very consistant with it at 30 yards. Meaning I have damaged enough of my arrows at 30 yards with the use of the whisker biscuit.

But the guy at the pro shop says it is junk and that I am wrong for using it. I am sorry if I like simplicity and a basic rest that holds my arrow in place.

My viewpoint.

Everyone has different tastes. I have mine set up exactly like my dads. Why? Cuz we both like the same stuff and we are the same size. That might not work for the next guy. If someone is having problems and you can point it out and help them improve thats fine, thats what you are there for. But if the guy is doing fine and you just dont like how he is doing it back off. Give him pointers and advice but dont tell him what he is doing is wrong.

I was going to buy a whisker buscuit last season because I hated the standard rest that came with my bow, I wanted to be able to sit iwth the bow on my lap and not have to reset the arrow when I hold the bow upright. I was steered away from the biscuit, and bought a drop away rest. I love it, kinda expensive though.

I aggree with you 100% on what you said. Just because something works for you don't mean it will work for the next guy.
