Safari Rifle Question

Well I cant really find any research on the internet about this rifle its called a 700 nitro express rifle all I know is this was used for elephants and other big safari game. But I'm sure some of you would know something about this rifle. And another rifle called a .577 T-Rex rifle that I'm curious about also. Can you get these rifles in the US? How much do they cost? I'm guessing they are ridiculously expensive.

i dont know much about them but the 700 nitro is crazy big and is said to be able to break sholders if placed incorrectly. the ones i have seen are in the 10K and up range. im sure some dip into the 20K side.

I've heard of it but I honestly don't know much about it. I'm sure someone on here will chime in with some info.

You going on a big hunt Jim or just curious about it? One of these years I'll save up enough cash to do a big game hunt outside the US.

No problem, I got rid of the duplicate.

I used to have all the info on that first video and the rifle and range but it's been a couple of years and I didn't see it in my saved favorites. I'll look on one of my other machines and see if I've still got it. That is just wicked recoil - heck I guess you could put your shoulder up against a howitzer but the outcome won't be pretty......but then again who am I kidding, I own a .500 Mag pistol in 3" and it's got a lovely kick.

This is Curlysue having a run in with my .500 Mag - please keep in mind I didn't expect her to get hit so my laughing was only because she is fearless when it comes to shooting my big cal's and I knew it was going to kick like a mule. I was looking into the side viewfinder of the camera so I didn't realize it had hit her until she turned and told me.

S&W .500 Mag

Yeah the recoil is pretty wild any harder and your shoulder will pop out of place.

Depends if your a real man or just a pansy. Knowing my luck my shoulder would go flying 10feet backwards after the kick.
