Hog hunting near College station, TX

My wife and I might be going to CS this year for Christmas. I want to shoot a hog, not a trophy typw hog, but a good eating one. I found a few ranches there, only one that had pricing on their site was charging $1 pound, and $25 to have them field dress, skin and quarter it . It will probably be a one, maybe two day hunt, so that we can still spend some time with Lisa's family though. I'm going to take Lisa's BIL, and her Dad, and it will be a first time hog for all of us (I don't think that her BIL has shot any big game though)

Is there a place in the area that we can go, that's pretty cheap and offers good hog hunting?

I have friends who like to hog hunt so I posted a question about it on facebook. Hopefully someone will know a good place.

I'm not so sure it going to happen now . My wifes Dad is acting like a girl now, about going to TX for X-mas . Let me know what they say anyway, for the future

I'll work on it with my son, also. Between him and Lisa we should find something. Hell, if we have any around by then, I'll take you down to the border.(Hold harmless required). Lotsa boogey men down there.

We hunted them with dogs and knives last month, and will hit them with a helo in two weeks. Probably won't be much left, but we'll see.

Yessir! I currently reside in c-stat.
let me tell you that someone charging you to shoot a hog down here is highway robbery!!
if they charge you to field dress it then that's understandable and $25 is a good deal
BUT these things are a neusance down here and ranchers hate them.
Some of them would almost rather pay you a $/lb!!
I can try to ask around but the only guys here I know own land in austin, not cstat..

I didn't actually go out, opting instead to keep the fire going and the scotch flowing. My son took out some frat bros. They got two and came back looking like an axe murder had taken place. No dogs went down, and no snakebites so I guess it went well.
