it usually is , imagine riding for 28 hours in a crew cab superduty with three other guys , you kinda run out of things to talk about , that can be aggrivating but the hunt is usually worth the hassle , actually the ride out is not to bad , its the ride home that sux

we stay with a buddy of mine who lives right on the line near camp crook south dakota , weve been hunting in sd , we applied for montana this year , well hunt custer national park area , weve seen some really good deer in that area , i dont know if your familiar with that area or not, we go thanksgiving week for 7-9 days , once were done hunting we just hang out for a bit ,till every body is ready to go

im very familiar with that area.....there are some good bucks out there.... I go opening week cause im after elk mainly....but that last week your going is prime for deer...should be in the full swing of the rutt!! Ill be near helena myself....

yeah we usually catch ther rut in full swing , everybody usually gets a 150 class average , seen some bigger , as usual out of range , still a ways off but ill let you know how it goes

that area can produce some huge mule deer bucks! and the elk hunting is not to shabby either. Hope you have a great time you can never go wrong with hunting in montana. (lived most of my life in south eastern montana)

a mule deer is what i myself would rather shoot this year , i shot whitetail last two years , gonna concentrate on a nice muley this year , thats what i like about the either or tag , whichever one you see you want , you have the option

thats what I miss about good ole montuckey as long as you where in the right districts you could shoot what ever monsterous beast hopped out in front of you regardless of weather it was a mulie or a white tail both being very plentiful on the river bottoms and in the mountain brakes. here in northern idaho Im stuck with my general white tail tag if i want to do a little hunting here and there its good for almost a month and a half in my area... if i get the mulie tag i got about 2 weeks to fill it and with my work schedule thats nearly imposible.
