Sweetlilgunslingers (Kahla) 1st turkey

Well we are back from the turkey hunt i never told anyone about lol sorry. Kahla shot a really nice Turkey 33lbs, 10inch beard, and 2-3 inch spurs, (can hang him from a tree by them there so long.

She shot him at 66 yards with a remington 1187 shooting a 3 inch 5 shot 12. the first shot peppered the hell out of him 66yards lol, she was just to excited and pulled the trigger a tad to early. He didnt fly off untill we got up to see if we could get close to finish him off, should have brought a 22 just for this reason, i usally do. Well he flew about 50 yards and started to lemp to the creek and thats where we found him laying up against a tree and she finished him off. Over all im really happy with her and her turkey. Im sure she will have pics up by tonight, and add to what ive said.

P.S. She also shot a 6 foot long rattle snake that was really mean. Darn near got me. But i got the killl of the day i shot a poor lil rabbit lol. sure was good eaten tho .

sad part is i refused to put my snake boots on, had them in the truck, sure would have hurt all i was wearing where my old cowboy boots.

That is why I don't turkey hunt anymore. Most of Alabama (all but 2 counties) are spring turkey only.

To dang hot and too dang snakey for me in April. I do miss it sometimes though.

yeah it was fun!! sorry i dont have any pics up yet.. i gotta wait to get them developed. yeah bobby almost got bit and nearly jumped up in MY lap to get out of the way. course i was smart enough to wear my snake boots. i cant wait to go out there again. i was beggin bobby to find me another snake to shoot. the only good snake is a dead one! LOL
