That's a pretty economical firearm!!! I like it, though I don't have any experiance with Hi-Point. This is my dream handgun:

Springfield Armory XD45, .45 ACP Auto Pistol

Hi-point is pretty good gun for pretty good price. IMO, if I was looking for a .45 protection firearm, I would go with Springfield or Kimber. More money - more quality - more dependability.

I have seen some of the high point stuff, and not really been that impressed with it. I would rather spend a little more money and get something I know I can depend on.

I've bought several guns from this site: GunsAmerica Home
If you look around on this site, you can find some real good deals.

I have this pistol here. Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. I have shot 1000 + rounds through it with no problems. I love it!

I have an xd 9mm sub compact and it has been a great gun. Little too blocky for carrying though.

As for the high point, you might try a gun show, I know the last one I went to had some of those and they were very cheap. BTW...I bought my XD used at a gun show for $350 and it was in perfect condition.

Yeah...I was at a Bike/Gun show up in Timonium, MD a while back and they had a used XD45 with the case and everything for like $400....I think they said it had fired like 10-15 rounds. I almost bought it...but I was (and still am) broke!
