Colorado Elk Hunt
Shot my first elk a couple weeks ago, down by Salida, CO. We saw this bull laying under a tree, so we got as close as possible and setup up for the shot. The bull got up walked behind trees and bushes, and finally came out into an opening. The shot was at 450 yards and boom, right through both lungs. The knock out punch with a 300 ultra mag. The pictures are terrible due to the cell phone, and its not a big one, but its still meat in the freezer.

The highest minimum for colorado is 4x4. The one i shot was a 4x4, but in that unit you could even shoot a spike.

Good deal bud!
I hope to shoot one next year, even a cow would suit my needs. Hunting them to 8 years, and NEVER even seen one in the woods

Note: The 4 point limit applies to one side so it could be 4X2 nontypical for example also a think a ten inch brow tine meets the criteria.
