Dyno Conversation
Ok I have been talking to a local shop with a dyno. I been trying to find out what the cost is. They want 150 bucks for one hour and tell me it usually takes 1.5-2 hours to run a diesel on a dyno.
Then I get this in a response to one of my emails. I guess 6.0L are the only diesels ford makes. Can you say I am going to talk to other shops. We don't typically "max out" 6L's because of the cylinder head gaskets, bolts, and piston issues. We've never seen 140 hp out of a 6L - if you want to try it, we can, but you're liable for all or any damages - not us! Uh I guess a 6.0L can not make 140hp even stock. If it does it may cause damage to the engine. The real funny thing is I have a 2002 7.3L and I made that clear in my first email to this shop. |

My reply back was at 150 bucks an hour and your saying it takes 2 hours so for 300 dollars to run my truck. I will check with other shops around thank you. I mean come one they think they are the only ones by me with a dyno. I guess they need to look in the yellow pages. I will check with other shops near my house. I am also trying to set up a dyno day at the shop I go to. But not if they are going to charge 300 bucks and take 2 hours to run a truck. |

See I could do that. Put the chip on stock see what I get. Put it on extreme and see what the maxed hp and torq I have. Stump I don't get it either I thought the 6.0L had more hp stock then what they are thinking. I can understand not running a 6.0L maxed out on a SCT because of the possibillity of head bolts and gaskets going. Maybe they need a diesel guy come work part time for them. I told them I do not own a 6.0L I own a 7.3L. I got a response back, "so which one are you wanting to run the 6L or 7.3L" I am like don't worry about it. If your not listening to what I am saying or if your not reading the info I am giving you fully. I am not going to run my truck on your dyno. Unless you let me operate your dyno. I think Rodslinger needs to come to Michigan. Prove to these people that Hp is made out of the 6.0L or even onefastgranny. These people still are asking me when I am able to bring my 6L to run on there dyno. Can I borrow someones truck with a 6L in it please. Cause I don't have one.
