Summit g2g

It keeps getting brought up, but opinions haven't been made one way or another by a lot of folks, or replies have been lost in the chaos. So, here is the thread for it.

Place: Summit Racing - off I75 south of ATL a bit. Google it.
Date and time: TBD

The idea has been floated to make it a g2g during one of their parking lot "show" things.

Ideas/thoughts/suggestions?

The all Ford show is Sep. 8. I'd say that would be the date if we are going to do it.

I know it's in there. But that's like the idea starter or something. I figure the idea was put out there, a couple of replies were made, then other ideas were made and SQUIRREL!

8 Sep sounds good to me.

It's a grand idea. Wonderful. Now make it work for everyone's schedule. And are we gonna eat or just show up and be hungry? What time? How long does it last? I'm on vacation September 8th so that doesn't work for me.

I'll let the event guys know to schedule their events through you next time. I tried this time, but apparently they didn't get the memo. My failure.

The event is 1000-1600. Is there a Denny's or Cracker Barrel in the vicinity? Is anybody going to be entering their rig(s)?

Considering it's Summit's event and not the GPDA's event I would think that you would prepare yourself as far as food and drink's are concerned in case they don't have that setup.

There are some restaurants around there and on nearby exits. Or we can figure out something else for food. I'm not 100% on Sep 8 cause it's getting so close to deer (bow) season. I may be working at the hunting club trying to get prep'd for the 14th. But if that's not the case, I should be able to make it. Or everyone throw out some dates that work for them.

I should be able to stop by. We get back form Mexico the day before. Depending on how things go I might bring the kid and/or the wife as well. The food options at the Summit exit aren't exactly what I would call stellar. If you go north one exit about a mile on I-75 there are many more options though. There is a Three Dollar Cafe at that exit. It's been years since I've been but from what I remember they have good bar food and ample parking.

Here's the website:

Or, I completely forgot that OB's BBQ is down there too. This is another good place to go and grab a bite.
