Spraying fuel
That title may not be 100% accurate, but here's the deal. I romped on it, getting on the highway, for a second. Only went from about 20-70mph. When I got to my next stop I thought I smelled burning fuel, but I was around a bunch of other vehicles so I just put it in the back of my mind. I could still smell it when I left and was driving down the road. When I got to my next stop I walked around the front of the truck and it smelled really strongly from the engine bay so I popped the hood. The smell was very strong, but I didn't see anything obvious. I went inside and came back out about 5 minutes later and there is a big puddle under the truck. When I got down it and smelled it it was the same smell and I found the liquid all over the underside of the truck. It was dripping off of the oil pan, front axle, there's spray on both side's fender wells, front driveshaft, etc.... Any ideas?

Fuel regulator seal is leaking

Well the most we can tell for sure is, it's leaking.
How about you go clean it all up, and then run the pump for a while and see what you can find. You can just do KOEO just so you can get closer in there to find the leak. |

When you did the EGR and everything recently did you pull the fuel lines off the front of the heads? If not, then it's got to be a leak at the fuel bowl. Pull off all your lines and clean up the seals and tighten them back up.

I did some searching and thats what I was beginning to think it was.
Quote:
It was one of the fuel lines going into the motor mounted fuel filter. Somehow one of the nuts had backed itself back off. |
