New guy question
Sooo I can Imagine that there is a million post with this question ... But .. I'm gonna ask anyway lol ... So I'm getting rid of this bullydog that came with the truck and looking into SCT I'm wondering what's the general opinion on which on to get .. I'm mainly looking for fuel evonomy gains bc my truck is my daily driver also want hp gains and torque of course

You need to talk to MWilbur516 as he has all the major tunes but here is what I know. I have been running an SCT canned street performance tune with EGR turned off. My fuel mileage is up nearly 2 MPG over the tow tune the truck was running on. I am getting ready to load a Super Panty Dropper from Truck Source Diesel. I hope that it has better manners than the canned tune and ups my mileage. Good luck with it.

the custom tunes are MUCH better for the transmission as opposed to the generic canned tunes. I've had the Eric's tunes, Super Diesel has Gearhead's, and MWilbur has the TSD tunes(which have impressed me the most). The Super Panty Dropper (SPD) tune Matt(MWilbur) has an excellent amount of power yet the shifting is still very smooth. Chris @ TSD is awesome from what I've read. I will be getting there tunes once I've put some more goodies in the truck.
Also, contact Bill @ Power Hungry Performance and he can do FICM tuning which makes a WORLD of difference in throttle response, low-end, and mpg's. |

Get the SCT X3 or SF3 they look the same just the x3 only holds custom tunes and the SF3 holds Canned tunes AND custom tunes...
Load some custom tunes from either: Innovative Diesel (Eric) Gearhead Automotive (Matt) or Quicktricks (Vivian) Their reputations are as follows for the most part Eric: great power, throttle/ power feels kinda like an on/off feeling. Matt: safest tuner for non-studded trucks, power throughout the whole powerband, Least smokey out of all Vivian: throttle is kinda in between eric's (on/off) and matts (thoughout) Hers is right in between... Great power, and the Best cutomer service known to man Now saying this I will give them all credit... They ALL have AWESOME power, they all are great tuners... and they ALL have safe tunes for "non-studded" trucks (just matt has the praise in that area) Hope this helps in your decision |

A bunch of us went out to PHP in February and had our FICM's tuned. Check out the thread here: TRUE FICM GAINS (rumors put to rest)
