New Guy
I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My login is my name. Wed is short for Wedford, it's a family name, and yes, it's weird.
I live in Fayetteville with my wife, our 9 month old daughter and our 3 dogs.I always have wanted a big diesel truck ever since I can remember. A few years ago before we had a kid and it was just us and the dogs, we bought a 2000 Expedition to take on vacations. It worked nicely for the two of us, the dogs, and all our stuff. Now we've got a kid and she requires more stuff then my wife and I put together. The Expedition still works, but it is a little cramped and it is getting older. So we thought we'd atleast start considering something new. Well if any of you have looked and now, the newer Expeditions are all 3 row built in, and Ford moved the middle row forward to make the 3rd row easier to access. This pretty much killed the middle row leg room, so we gave up on a newer Expedition. Then one day I get a genious idea, how about an Excursion. I can combine my desire for a big diesel truck and my growing family needs and possibly sell this to my wife. To my shock, she went for it. After about a 4 month serach, I finally found it. Two weeks ago I flew up to Philadelphia, PA and met up with the dealership to by a 2003 Excursion Limited with just under 73000 miles on it. I've been lurking in the forums throughout my whole search so I knew everything to look for and feel like I got the right vehicle for us. I haven't really had time to play with it with the holidays and all, but today I'm doing fuel filters, blue spring, 6.4 banjos (if what the guy at Speedway Ford told me was true) and zoodad mod. This looks like a very active group and I can't wait to start going to some of the get togethers. I was happy to see the families at the corn maze pictures. The car/truck groups I've been a part of in the past have been 99% single dudes, which is alright, but sometimes my wife gets bored. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. I got the fuel filters changed and the blue spring kit installed this weekend. Also performed the Zoodad mod earlier today from everything I saw here. I was able to pick up the 6.4 banjo bolts, but didn't see them under the hood on Saturday when I was doing the other fuel stuff. I think next on the list is going to be some gauges to help monitor things. I've got an Innova scan gauge, but I can't seem to get it to pull EOT.

Yep, just follow the hard fuel lines from the upper filter housing down to the heads and you've found them.
