Talking Local Help Needed - Georgia!

Hey guys,

Well... like the title says, I'm in need of some assistance. I have the full powered 08 mirrors (telescoping, heated, folding, etc) but they aren't hooked/wired up. Does anyone know how to take the door panels off and do this? I've read the sticky by 03_Turbo7.3 but I'm still a little weary of tackling this myself. What do you guys think? Anybody out there locally that's done this before? Thanks!

-Chris

I haven't done mine yet but I googled 08 mirror conversion and got a few stickies with step by step directions. One sight has the wire colors and everything to do it.Door panel is easy.Pull the black plastic piece on the corner.Pull the window switch from the top and there is a hex head screw there and also one behind the light in the corner.Lift the panel straight up.There are no push pins behind the panel so don't pull or it will break.Trust me on this one.

Yeah, I just don't want to break anything on this truck... not really sure how true this is or not - but the dealership told me that my door panels are about $1000 EACH! So.... yeah......

I think I'm gonna take it to a local audio shop and have them do it for me. I got a quote of $150-200 today, including doing custom switches for the telescoping and folding. That's the safest route for me. Thanks anyway, I've found a few stickies with the color wire diagrams - but I never found a Step by Step w/ Pics. And unfortunately, I need the pics. I'm a visual learner.

Yeah they are.I broke mine adding the speakers to my excursion.Luckily the next day at work we got a trade in with the same interior as mine.I have to do the mirrors yet and in fact planned on this weekend but Irene put a stop to that.

It's easy to do. Did mine in about an hour. If you wire it like all the post say your switch will be backwards (push switch to driverside to adjust passenger and vice versa). It's an easy fix you just have to swap a couple wires. Can't remember colors right off hand but it fairly easy
