No, you don't need to worry about the wastegate. I'd be willing to bet that the dumbazz that got you worried about it doesn't even know how it works or what it does.

What it does - routes exhaust gasses around the turbine wheel of the turbo to prevent over spooling

How it works - there is a red line running to the actuator, that ( i think) pulls a vacuum on the actuator and opens it further as exhaust flow/boost pressures increase.

The dinger delete i have just makes it not ding when you have the door open with the key in the ignition. Just take a small pointy object, a small phillips head screwdriver works well, put the key in the on position, push the screwdriver into one of the holes on the bottom of the column cover and if you push in the right spot you can pull the entire igniton cylider out. After you do that you will see a little plastic clip with a metal peice sticking up, un hook that clip and put your ignition back in.

i see in your mods list it says forged. Do certain years come that way?

i would assume he means connectiong rods, the later 7.3's came with PMR connectiong rods, which are not as strong. and don't ask what PMR means, because its 2am....lol. i think its powdered metal something, but i could be dead azz wrong

yup PMR=JUNK... well actually means powder metal coated rods. there are not as good as the forged rods.

PMR means Powdered Metal Rods

Anything before 2000 had forged. 2000 was a the change year, it was a hit or miss, then 2001 on had PMRs. I think some 01s have forged though.
