the 4r100 thats in the 7.3 is a compeltly different monster then the 6.0's 5r110...the 4r100 can handle a dp tuner just fine if i remember correctly, but the 5r110 is good until around 550 horse...i think the 4r is good until 400 dont quote me on that though

The SCT will tune the trans along with the engine. So you get better engine tuning (more power) and trans tuning (something most other tuners ignore). If you want the BEST for your 6.0, get a custom tuned SCT. Most here will recommend Innovatives tunes, although I've been hearing so good things about Cale's (from BTS) tuning.

AKBOUND - when / where are you bound in the GREAT state? I'm in Anchorage, grew up 14 miles north of Anchorage in Eagle River

This will be the 7.3 so it looks like I'll be ok. We are actually moving TO Anchorage, we'll be there around the middle of June. We were there at the beginning of January and checked things out, even drove through Eagle River looking at houses and even went into the new Wal-Mart. Okay, dumb question I know, but, what exactly does "SCT" stand for?
I'm really new to the whole PSD world and I'm still learning (making the transition from a pumped up BMW Z3).

Uhhhh..... Not sure what it stands for, if anything. The company that makes the tuners is just called SCT, here's a link to their home page..........

SCT Automotive Performance Products

They make the tuner and the software for others to use to write custom tunes...... the best thing out there for a 6.0 PSD There's better options for a 7.3 though.

Let me know if there's anything you need or any info you want to know about the Anchorage area. I've been up here for a little while Congrats on the move too, what brought it on? (Job, just need a change, runnin' from the law ? Where you coming from?)

Thanks for the link.

We're coming from a small town outside of Atlanta GA, called Monroe. And yes, I'm runnin' from the law. JK! My wife got a job at Providence Hospital so that's the reason for the move. I have a son that graduates HS in May, and I've gone back to school and graduate from UGA in May also or else we'd be there sooner.
We'll be driving up (the reason for the F250) and possibly pulling a small trailer. It's only 5000 miles give or take, so it should be fun.

We've already found a place to live, so we just need to get there. Looking forward to coming to AK!

Providence is a good hospital, I do a litlte work in their ER to keep up on my NREMT cert. I drove from NH to southern CA to Anchorage back in 03', so I feel your pain on the drive. You doin' the Alcan or takin the ferry from Seattle to Haines or Whittier?

We'll be taking the Alcan. We're actually looking forward to the drive. We plan on stretching it our over 2 weeks and making it a vacation in route.
