High horsepower PSDs; best foundation??

Which engine is making the most power, 94-97 7.3, 99-03 7.3, or 03-07 6.0L? What is done to the real powerful ones? How much power they putting out? Im not talking the sled-pull only, 1500+hp ones, Im interested in the ones you can get in, drive to work, the store, etc. drive to the track and lay down wicked times and massive dyno numbers.

Also, pertaining to the 94-97 7.3, whos making the most power out of them and what makes a good street/strip ride? Ive heard good things about Tony Wildmans tunes...

if yur on a budget the 6.0 is byfar the easiest power makers

intake exhaust and a well tuned sct will get ya over 400 easily

Im thinkin more 7-,8-,9-,1000hp types. Like the 1000hp Duramax truck Nasty Girl, Chris Werners 1200+hp 12valve Cummins, stuff like that.

6.0's are the easiest as they are considered "hot/tuned" from the factory -- so a few add-on's gets you quite a bit

the 01-03 7.3's have PMR rods in them, not forged like the earlier versions - soo 400 HP is roughly the limit on those engines w/o changing the rods

and for the 7.3's - Wildman's tunes are some of the best! There is also Jody DP and I think Eric @ Innovative that custom tune them (although I will be purchasing a Wildman chip soon )





EDIT: in reviewing the posts while I typed the above - I think if you are going to be going for that sort of HP - it doesn't matter which one you go for

of course it is streetable I mean look at Maddogg and his 12-valve.
Zane Koch has a 97 powerstroke that is street/strip I think.
Its all in what kind of setup you use you dont want it to smoke too much or have a turbo that is laggy, etc.

PSD's haven't broken 800 hp yet on the HEUI injection system, whether it be a 7.3 or a 6.0.

High 700's is obtainable on NOS, and high 600's on fuel alone. Both of those best numbers come from a 7.3. The 7.3 is still the quickest/fastest powerstroke in a fullsize pickup.


Dockboy weighed around 7600lbs and had the following that I know of...
2000 F250 ext cab long bed 4x4 11.88 - best 1/4mile time.

BTS tranny
BTS big oil
Custom fuel system
Studs, fireringed
big shot of NOS
