Course if all you care about is power and just want the Ford truck and have money, you could just buy a Ford truck w/o engine and drop a built 12v Cummins in there...build the tranny, the injection pump, twin turbo it...and you'd have a 1000 hp Fummins. It can be done. Hell, the best toy I've seen yet was in the latest issue of Diesel Power...it was a built 6.0 dropped into a CJ7 Jeep...you can find it on YouTube. Man that things was totally *its. That's power-to-weight ratio gone insane. That's what I'd do if I had money to play with.

The guy that built that CJ is on here occassionally. It is a nice ride.

There is supposed to be a newly engineered common rail fuel system conversion coming out for the 7.3 to replace the heui, at least that is what David Lott was discussing briefly. We haven't heard much of anything since.
A lot of the trucks built for big horsepower still seem to be pretty streetable. There are valet switches for the 12v's to cut fuel delivery and we all know the electronic engines can be "turned down" with ease in most cases.

Well I dont have a Ford, Im just wondering what kind of power guys are pulling out of the PSDs. Im well aware of what the Cummins and Duramax guys are getting, but there has been not much that Ive heard about high-powered Powerstrokes. Although, if I did get a PSD, it would be a 94-97 350 (for the solid front axle).

And yes, in my distorted view on things, I consider 800hp streetable for a diesel. 800hp gasser is starting to push it. Im hoping to be there next summer, but we will see...

99-07 still uses a solid front axle. And I'm pretty sure the 08's use a solid front axle as well.

Yeah, I meant the 350 over the 250 for the solid front axle

Why? There's no real difference.

99-01 F250/F350 SRW's have dana 60 housings with Dana 50 guts (marginally different)... 02+ all have Dana 60's...

Won't really matter until someone addresses the bottom end... just can't stay together!

I believe he is stating that the OBS F-250 trucks like mine have the POS split axle Dana 50 and the F-350 trucks all have the solid axle D60. All of the SD trucks have a solid axle weather it be a 50 or 60.

Yeah, I forgot to add that. Lott was saying that the air is there, just not the fuel. Didn't Greg go through a lot of engines?
