Question Need a tuner

All right all my green handle friends out there. I want to get a tuner for my 2005 F-250 6.0L PS. I have been doing some search's but all that has caused is confusion! What make of tuners do you use, recommend or "say the hell away from"? I have looked at Edge, SCT, DP among others. I'm going on a month long trip towing my 32' 5th wheel and would like some more power and fuel mileage. Any help will be more than appreciated!!!

You need a way to monitor all of the engine vitals before putting a tuner on it. Something like the Edge Insight CS or CTS. As far as tuner, most are gonna tell you hands down that the SCT with custom tunes is the way to go, including me.

sct x3 is the tuner of choice, but you need gauges in order to avoid damage. I got a used edge juice/attitude because it was cheap and has built in gauges, and when I'm ready to get a real tuner, I can still use it as gauges.

Question Newbie really needs help

Okay, you are working here with a real newbie. I have a 2005 F-250 6.0L PSD. I will be using this truck to pull a 32' fifth wheel travel trailer. I want to increase HP and Torque to do this. And if the fuel mileage goes up, so much the better. From what I understand I need to buy a set of gauges and record something before I buy a tuner. What type of gauges do I need to buy and what systems do I need to monitor? Also, I do not have a lot of money to spend so the 4" tuned pipes, head studs and such will not happen. Guess what I'm saying is I need a plain Jane system, which maybe is not possible for what I need. Any help, advice, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciation!
