tailgate lock

Theres been a lot of theft of tailgates around my neighborhood and also people getting there garages ripped off. Do any vendors here sell locks for tailgates? I need to get me a gun or 2 or 5 lol

your stock tailgate doesnt have a lock? mine came stock with one

no it didnt. heck i dont even know if this is the original tailgate. my whole truck was pieced together lol.

haaa. should just be able the change the handle out and put one with a key in, check ebay or something?

omg i am a dumb azz. i just looked and yes i do have a lock now i gotta check to see if my key works it lol. my key only works the ignition and drivers door as far as i know.

well the ignition key doesnt work. guess ill have to buy a new one or have my lock keyed for my ignition key.

You can have the lock rekeyed to your ignition key, thats what i did on my '08 tailgate. Another thing i added was a gatekeeper. Its just one more thing to help prevent tailgate theft. Some people make their own with a hose clamp but for $20 something dollars i think this is a good product.

For some reason mine is a power lock as well as manual. I have disconnected it because it really doesnt unlock well....
