Just bought a 7.3

Well this is my first diesel, I bought a 2000 F350, Ext Cab, short bed, black, 4wd, auto. I WAS driving a 94 K2500 GMC with the 5.7 . The diesel owns just about everything else on the road, its a monster. Just wanted to post and hear what everyone thinks about this truck, or anything that might be usefull to know about the 7.3, thanks

its a great truck.....and there is all kinds of info on here...all ya gotta do is sit back and read it....and if you have any specific questions....lay them out there.....cause there is someone on here that has the answer.......Marc

The 7.3 is pretty much bulletproof. Just keep an extra CPS on hand, no telling where and when they'll go. By the way, welcome to the forum!

Yep. And usually that "someone" is Marc!

Well I dont have any mods planned yet, but im sure down the road ill have something. Whats the deal with the CPS in the 7.3, should I buy one from a specific place?

i personally like factory parts...but thats cause thats what i have experience with....sounds like the guys find them on ebay resonably......the cps is just the most common single failure on the 7.3....and thats why most guys reccomend carrying one in the glove box......Marc

I think it's just a bad design.
