2002 f250 high pressure problems

I am working on a 7.3 diesel for a friend of mine.He changed the oil in the truck using 10w30 he drove down the road to go to work and it quit. I checked truck out,it has a code p1212.I checked the high pressure resovior it was empty.I filled this up with oil and still had no icp reading.Any body have any ideas.I have snap-on scanner.The low pressure reading ok.
