best mileage 7.3/6.0

i'm lookin to buy a f550 with a automatic. which motor is giving up the best fuel mileage? what mods did you do to achieve this. i'm looking at intercooled so 99 and up please. post yours.

Drive a 02 F450 7.3 with 4.30 gears and empty I get 12 empty going 75 MPH and get 10 towing going 75.

6 liter should have a bit better mileage.

I got 19 on my last 400 mile trip with cruise at 75 and 6 speed manual. 99 7.3 cc lb. Mods are Sniper 100 hp tune

thanks for the replies. i'm thinking about getting a 7.3 intercooled(99/02) because i feel its a better motor but my main concern is mileage. did ford ever address the problems with the 6.0 on the newer models? i had a 03 and it lived at the dealer

i think the 05 and newer 6.0s had much better luck
