6.0 Start up

Hello,

New to the site and new to posting so bear with me please. Just purchased an 05 Exursion. When I turn on the key to start, while waiting for the glow plugs there is a module in the passeneger side engine compartment thats makes noise for quite awhile?? Obviously still getting familiar with the 6.0 so any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Great Thanks. Didn't notice it when I was test driving other 6.0's so when I finally got this one home it wasn't something I was expecting. Thanks again.

Well its definitely the vacuum pump. Question is, is it supposed to start running when you turn the key on? Auto hubs we're working a couple of days ago when I picked it up???

Yes its supposed to start running when you first start the truck. As long as the pump shuts off shortly after that you are fine
