loud exhaust tickets???????

well ive gotten 2 loud exhaust tickets within the last month.....i got one last night and my dad got one with my truck about a month ago....its getting rediculous...the town cops where i live dont care...but the troopers are dicks about it, they told me it was a new new york state law that anything thats not coming out the back stock is illegal...... i talked to my girlfriends father thats a mechanic and he told me that if it was illegal that he would have been notified by the state about the new law for inspection reasons.... its really pissing me off that im getting pulled over for it...but i guess im gonna have to go to 4 inch turbo back here soon....and selling or trading my stacks for one if anyone is interested i just dont want to deal with the tickets anymore

i know in michigan you have to have an exhaust that goes over the rear axle and exits behind the rear axle if the truck has a less than GVRW of 10,000 or 11,000 IIRC. F-350 and above dont have restrictions on the exhausts

yeah but it mean its rediculous i paid over 400 for the stacks now i have to spend another 300 for a regular exhaust cause some b/s law they say they have now.........im ready to get outta new york haha

buy a harley load it in bed then when you get pulled over start it up and say my bike is louder and legal so untill you require a certain db then this ticket is worthless.

I fought all my loud exh. tickets and won so I would just fight them and see what happens or just add a race bullet before your t pipe and that will quit it down a little bit

What does loud exhaust have to do with not coming out the back. How much are the tickets, and show me the law.
If they are to loud then quieten (sp) them down, but don't make me take them off just because you don't like them.

well both times i got pulled over i was never romping on it or being loud with them...... just cruising down the road......maybe its that time i was coming back from a party and the cop chased me through town and i pulled into someones house and shut my truck off......nah i dont think thats it at all lmao

i got one for my exhaust being to large lmao apparently how they measure that is with there boot and if it fits its to big i just got someone to sign the work order off

idk what is with the cops these days but i do know those rice burner cars with the glasspacks are way louder than any diesel truck with stacks thats for sure they should get tickets if we get them. id fight that ticket its not worth paying for

the cops around here havent been so bad about exhaust a few guys with straight piped mustangs and Z-71's have been warned but they have been cracking down on tint
