Open diff options....

Hey, I just found out my dually has an open diff when I asked Scott to rebuild the LSD. Well, I had heard of something that you can put in in your driveway, not really a locker, but something to make it a LSD? is this true?

Is a locker in it my only option to get both sides to pull in the snow/mud?

Also, I am assuming the front is an open diff too. How can I tell? is there anything on the tag on the cover that tells it?

Mines a 10.25 dana 80. 3:73 gear.

If you give your tag numbers to a place like drivetrain or somone who builds axles they can tell you. As far as a "powertrax" type locker in a dana 80 i dont think its possible. I do a little looking but for the most part that is for like 10 bolt chevy axles ect. ill do some looking at get back to you.

My advise would be to install a tru trac in it and be done Nick. I don't like full lockers for a street truck.

They do make a loc rite for the dana 80 but it says not for high horsepower or big tires... its cheaper though and easier to install.... but diffs arent that hard to set up really just time consuming. As far as the front a selectible locker or a open diff are about the only way to go. Full lockers or even limited slips make it tricky to drive on slick streets because it wants to make the truck push really bad.
