hit by drunk driver

well,i didn't get to enjoy my 01 f-250 for long,hadn't had it for 2 months and a dang drunk driver plowed into us and totaled out my truck.Luckly my kids were not with us,only my wife and mother-in-law,my wife was driving and i was in the passinger side and m-law in the back.We was hit in the front going about 40 mph,he was in a ford tarus and i have to say his car was way more totaled than mine.My wife and m-law was o.k but i can't say the same for me,the air bag broke 20 bones in my wrist.I was so pissed off about my truck and my wrist and to top it off the guy was mexican with no drivers license,no insurance and the car was not even his.Good news is that i only payed 9000.00 for my truck and my insurance is going to pay me more back than i had in it.So soon as i'm able i'm going to start truck shopping again.I really did like that year model i had so i might try to fid another one like it with less miles on her tan my last.With the extra money their giving me i might could get a newer year model but i don't know if i want one with 6.0 or not,i've heard bad things about them and the one i drive at work has give us nothing but trouble.I'll problly go with the 7.3 again,those engines are bullet proof,or i might look at the Dodge trucks,they say those are good engines as well.The one thing i can't stress enough is to always wear your seat belt,it took me a long time to get into the habit but thank God i did.If we had not been in the f-250 and been in my wifes car we might have been killed,the size of the truck with us wearing our seat belts saved our lives,i really do believe this.Well sorry to be long winded, not much else to do around here with a broke wrist.

F-ing wetbacks I'm glad to hear you all made it OK (with your lives I mean).

Don't be afraid of the 6.0, it's a great engine, and does have some quirks, but they all do. The power from a 7.3 compared to a 6.0 is not even close (the 6.0 having more of course). I hope it all works out for ya bud

Glad you are not hurt to bad. Anytime bones are broken, it's not fun. Trucks and cars can always be replaced, but body's take longer. Good luck on finding a good used truck and like 2006PSDSD said don't be afraid of the 05 or 06 6.0

Glad to hear you walked away, even if it was with some broken bones. Race not being a factor, a drunk driver is a deadly weapon. Too bad you didn't fracture the wrist beating him into next week. I see plenty consequences of their (drunks / drunk drivers) actions.
