train horns
I know this subject has probably been duscussed in the past but as a relatively new member I need advice on train horns. I want to get a real train horn for my truck. I've been looking at and listening to them on some web sites and like the Nathan K3LA or P3 or the Leslie RS3K. does anyone out there have any of these or heard them in person. just wondered if they're worth spending the extra money for or should I just get a cheap set.

there is someone on here that has some real Nathan's I believe. They are freaking huge. I run a set from seige engineering, came with a ViaAir 380c 200cc compressor, loud horns, and a 5 gallon tank of ebay for like $200. you just gotta watch the ebay auctions and always come across a good deal.

How long will a five gallon tank blow those?

I figured the real ones are louder than the cheaper ones. plus I didn't think the cheaper ones sounded quite as good, but sometimes it's hard to tell by listening to a video online. I found some websites with complete kits of rebuilt P3's for just over $1000 and the horns by themselves on ebay for around $400. also I know a guy who is VP of a short line RR. I'm gonna call him to see if he can help me out. .
