Go to the junk yard and find a truck thats a manual and take the trans, both front and rear drivelines and anything else you think you might need. probably the cheapest way to go. Then sell you auto to someone else to recoup the costs.

what you mean drivelines? driveshafts?

ya. A guy that used to work with did the swap and the drive lines or drive shafts are different lengths. He bought the transmission transfer case front and rear drive shafts, new clutch with a none floating flywheel and i think he had about 3000 bucks in the swap. Not bad considering the clutch kit was almost 1000.

6 speed won't fit in an auto cab without modifying the trans tunnel (bottom of cab)....

hmm well I reckon that changes my thought of changing it lol. Thanks!

yeah it would be a lot of work going from auto to manual... More so than manual to auto.

I had no clue what would all be involved. Its probably not worth the money. By the time I swapped i could have a built auto.

someone enlighten me... whats the benefit of going to an auto?? I'm itchin to get my 6 speed out and get the auto in. I'll have about 3K wrapped up in mine, with the trans controller, rebuilt trans and all the little bits.
