Does anyone know why Ford and Caterpillar have never hooked up?

My buddy was talking about that just the other day. Ford should consider them for the 2011 SuperDuty now that they've broken up with Navistar

I doubt cat would be teaming up with ford since they have ceased production of on road truck engines since they dont want to have to deal with emissions crap any more

The 3208 is a big loud diesel. It's better suited for marine use.
