I'm sure you could install the vacuum hubs but you would have to have the pump, solenoid and all hoses to do so. I'm not even sure if the knuckles are the same if it doesn't have the auto hubs already. Would probably be pretty expensive and most guys would tell you to just keep the manual hubs because they are more reliable and stronger.

Yeah, that would be the one. Are your hubs manual only? There should be an electrical connection on the transfer case as well. I would check that first.

The only way they will lock in is if i go out and turn my hubs and then get in and turn a switch. So your saying chech the transfer case for a wire? do you have any idea what that wire is on the tranny?

Sounds to me like your hubs have a "manual" and an "auto" setting on the hubs. If has an auto setting and it won't engage then you have a vacuum problem. Could be a leak or possible the vacuum pump/motor isn't working. The pump and motor are on the passenger side fender. Have someone turn the key on and then have them engage the 4wd selector while you listen to the motor on the fender. See if it comes on when the switch is turned.
