stereo issues
Installed some new speackers the other night. Everything worked great for about 1/2 hr. stereo flickerd under hard bass, I have had the sub and amp in there for about two years and never had this issue before. So, I and my buddy tim and his lovely assistant laurn unistalled everything wire tested every fuse and wire and couldnt find the problem. So we lefted the sub unwired drove for about 1/2 everything was fine. Stop to get fuel and turn truck off and when we head back on the road no power to radio. We hit the reset power buttom came on for a brief moment then turned off again. Its a kenwood ddx7017 double den radio. Any one that has a similar issue please chime in. I have installed many of systems before and cant figure out whats wrong. The stereo is two years old, I wouldnt think it would already need rebuilt.
and this is driving me , always trying to make something better

Sounds fishy, it might just be getting old. You checked all your grounds aswell?

Well I fixed it. Someone hacked the hell out of the wire harness. I bought this truck used and it had the equipment in it. I went to circuit city and bought a new harness. They modified a harness that wasnt for this radio, how stupid ! luckly, I hadnt had a fire. Its all good now.
I will post a pic of the stereo if you want to see it troid123 |
