Might Buy This F250 Need Help

I have come across an:

2003 F250 Super Crew Cab Lariat 6.0L 118,000

I can get it through work for $8,800 plus tax and tags. Is this a good deal and is the truck going to hold up. I drove it and it seems in pretty good shape. I am going to have a friend that is a diesel mechanic check it out.

What do you think?

I work at carmax part time. Employee discount kicks ***. Should there be any motor problems or tranny problems I should be worried about. I have been reading about the 6.0's

The list is long!! The tranny in these trucks is pretty dang strong! The motor: Head Gaskets & Puking Coolant, Eating Coolant, WHITE SMOKE, ECM Programming, FICM Programming, Weak Head Studs, Hard Starting "Cold & Hot", The list goes on and on!! The Best thing that I can recommend for you to do is drive it straight to the nearest ford dealer and have them do a diagnostic scan and go through everything!! Spending a $100 Now could save you alot of headache & thousands of $$$$ down the road!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
