I've not had this problem, but I keep my underbody rhino sprayed! Its good investment!

Well its a little late for yours but my '06 is covered for rust through for 5 years / unlimited miles. There are some other coverages too if you check the warranty guide, but must likely the time limits have passed on an '02 truck.

yeah that was what i was thinking to. if u think about it thats pretty ****ty for a truck that is down on the coast or in road salt awhole lot. damn ford

I think you hit the nail on the head about why the don't do corrosion protection for longer. Salt is a real b!tch, look at the difference between a car from say Nebraska and Arizona after 20 years, world of difference. Sure both probably need paint, but the NE car there's not much left to paint.

The bad part is, I can walk through the parking lot here at work and pretty much tell you which cars or trucks will rusting a way in 5 years and which ones will be nice buys at a used car lot.

It seems to me like many of the people that frequent forums like this are the ones that take good care of there stuff and don't like to see it rust a way, so unfortunately those kind of things hit us a little harder then they do the rest of the population.
