tranny

2000 f250 psd 140,000 need to service tranny but dont know how long its been since last service (if ever) any ideas on what to do or not to do? And any links on how to do it. I realy need to start doing alot more my self instead of throwing money away by paying someone else to do it.....Tenmore

this should get you started. if your truck has a drain on the torque converter you should drain it also. you will need about 17-18 quarts of fluid.2002 Ford Super Duty Transmission Service - Diesel Power Magazine

Tanny

Thanks now all i need is for it to stop snowing so the undercarriage will dry out. Like I said before dont know how long its been since last service.. is there anything else i need todo Ive heard that if it hasnt been done and you get a flush its only a matter of time (a short time) before your tranny is shot. I would think changing it has got to be better than not doing anything at all. But im not a mechanic let me know what you think
