COLD WEATHER WARM UP MODE

F-250, EARLY 99, 7.3, 4dr, 6-SPEED, SUPERCHIPS FLASH PROGRAMMER, AFE COLD AIR BOX, STOCK DOWNPIPE, WITH 4in PIPE IN STOCK LOCATION, NO CAT/MUFF.
WARM-UP MODE, FLAPPER ON TURBO CLOSES, IDLE COMES UP, MAKES NEATO SOUND.
WHAT CONTROLS THIS FUNCTION? I HAVE REPLACED OIL TEMP GAUGE, HOWEVER
MY PICKUP WHILE WARMED UP AND MAINTAINING WHATEVER SPEED GOES IN AND OUT OF THIS WARM-UP MODE, MASH ON THE THROTTLE AND IT GOES AWAY, CRUISE ON OR OFF............HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the normal operation of the exhaust backpressure valve system. If it bothers you, you can unplug the lead to the valve solenoid on the turbo pedistal.

NEVER DID THIS BEFORE, THE PICKUP GENTLY SURGES WHEN ITS GOING OFF AND ON, REMEMBER I SAID ITS WARMED UP ALREADY, SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT, AND I CANT FIGURE OUT WHERE THE TECH/QUESTIONS FORUM IS, AND WHAT ALL CONTROLS THIS WARM-UP MODE.

It is partially controled by the EOT (engine oil temp) sensor. the Exhaust backpressure sensor may also have something to do with it if the sensing tube is plugged.

when i installed the bigg boost deal on there its 10 times more noticeable, bigg boost lies to map sensor says you have less manifold pressure (boost) when you really have more, prevents defueling. THANKS FO DA HELP!

hey bill would you believe exhaust back pressure sensing tube was broke in half, i never heard it because i only have 50% of my hearing left, D-10 no earplugs whatta dumba@s! THANKS FOR THE HELP!

yeah the tubes will rott and go bad. and are about 50 bucks to replace, easy job tho
