Hi guys new guy here

Hi everyone. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rob and i'm an electrician. I recently sold my dodge truck and plan on purchasing my bro in laws ford . to give you a idea its a
1999 ford f250 super duty
Diesel 7.3 motor automatic transmission
120 000 miles
lariat package
4x4
extra cab
long bed
new tires
All records for maintenance ( I know he maintains it well)
Snug top camper shell color matched to truck
leather seats
power win locks etc.
Burnt orange or Copper color exterior ( not sure what ford called the paint)
very few dings and dents. interior in great shape
he has towed a 5th wheel
We came to a understanding on a price of 8000 bucks. Does that sound like a fair price to both parties? Since ive never owned a diesel personally. I had a few diesel trucks as work trucks/company trucks. Ill be asking a lot of questions LOL
Thanx
Rob

welcome to the org. The price doesn't sound too bad. Post some pictures when you get it.

8K for a '99 doesn't seem to bad. I think you will love the 7.3 PowerStroke.

Im a journeyman electrician. been a journeyman for abotu 8 years now. Im a job foreman in charge of anywhere form 5 to 20 guys.

As for the truck yeah i basically got tired of the BS yearly smog checks, catalitic converter replacements etc. I jsut never looked at diesels because the ones I used to have were noisy smoky stinky trucks and I dodnt want one of those. But my BIL is looking to get a new Chevy duramax 3.4 ton and is loking to get rid of his curent truck and for 8K I jsut figured its worth it. Looking around it seems to be on the low side of what peopel are asking. i see trucks with 2x the mileage for 6-7 K so 8k isnt bad considering its a well maintained truck with fairly low mileage.
Also I read that the 7.3s have a weak point and that is the crank position sensor. Soemoen told me to keep a spare in the truck with a 10mm wrench.
So where is the sensor located? bottom of the motor by the crank?
thanx
Rob
