Difference between Basic and Stage 1/2/3 EGR Delete

So I have a good understanding as to the concept and reasoning behind the EGR delete but I can't find anywhere that really explains the difference between the basic egr delete and a stage 1/2/3 delete. And are there brands people recommend as far as a delete kit over others? And how does an EGR cooler work into the equation? Sorry for all the questions, just things I've been researching myself and trying to get more definitive answers to.

EGR : Exhaust Gas Recirculation

Takes exhaust from your uppipe and cools it with coolant (EGR Cooler)

and the EGR Valve opens and close to let the Exhaust back in your intake

Into your cylinders and back out the exhaust back into the egr.

If you dont need to smog your truck, Delete that guy as soon as possible!

Ok gotcha. So then you either do an aftermarket cooler OR an EGR delete?
