8.3 cummins?

I was talking to a guy that drives a dually cummins, but its got an 8.3 motor in it, does anybody know anything about these?

Heres what hes got done to it, Has 8.3 cummins. 100hp injectors, fuel turned up 15%, hx40 turbo, new trans with 1 3/8 billet input shaft with triple disk clutch. Loaded interior black. 22.5 semi wheels 90% on tires. 8in stacks

Now somebody tell me if thats fast, or is it a slow motor? What else can be done to it? And is it worth it?

I Googled the 8.3L - Apparently, there are some Youtube videos. I saw a short on with a black lifted Ram. It looked pretty quick, but it was by itself so there's nothing to compare it to.

8.3's are found in a lot of motorhomes, and trucks like the freightliner FL70's. We have 3 in our fire trucks, not bad motors make decent power but nothing to write home about. Im sure with some tinkering it could be fun.

I'd say you can get more power out of a B series than a C series. They're not the sturdiest engines.

He's only got an HX40, so he's going to be pretty power limited

Hx40 is a stock turbo on an 8.3 and he had to do a LOT of work to get an 8.3 in a dodge pickup.
