Rolled the Dice on First Diesel... Snake Eyes

Bought an '08 F250 6.4 Lariat with 135K on it for $20,000. Unfortunately I bought it before reading on line about all of the potential issues (if you read enough it will scare you to death). Thought I was making out ok but within the first two weeks I've had it at the dealership for:
  • Oil Leak - Replace gaskets - $800
  • Change All Fluids/Injector Flush/Radiator Flush/etc - $1200
  • Replace HPFP - $3200
  • Replace Alternator - $700
  • Replace Brake Actuator - $150

Now I'm thinking to have any level of comfort that this truck will continue to run I should replace the DPF and EGR and replace the Fuel/Water separator. I'm continuing to monitor the oil to see if I have fuel infiltration but haven't noticed anything yet.

The question is, should I cut ties now and sell it - lesson learned or invest additional money in the hopes the truck will run another 100K? Thoughts?

get it out of the dealer and get a good independent shop to do the work...

you're looking at $2500-3000 TOPS for all that work

and LOL @ an "injector flush" I'd love to know what that entails

Ya the injector flush alone cost $259. I have no idea what they did. Another mistake on my part... my mistakes seem to be mounting.

Does anybody have any opinion on the longevity of this truck... After getting these few things taken care of by an independent garage!! Thanks for the reply DonD.
