4.5l powerstroke v6

I was coming home today and i was right next to a Ford LCF which is usually a flat front small box truck. I heard it clattering and knew it was a diesel. And at my amazement it said 4.5l powerstroke compound turbo v6. I had no idea ford/international made this engine. And why they dont put it in other vehicles. As soon as i got home i looked it up and found out it made 200hp and 440lb-ft of torque. i dont know if i;ve juus been oblivious and everybody alreadt knows about it but if not i thought you guys would lik to kno seeing if it was more available it would make a great engine to swap into different vehicles. diesel powered mustangs anyone???

Wow, thats pretty cool. I too had no idea, so you are not alone!! Those are decent numbers for a stock non tuned V6. That would make a sweet swap into a jeep too

yeah it has the same capabilities as chevy's 4,5l duramax yuo could even hav it as an option on all the full size suv's, trucks, heck even minivans if you can fit it.

I've know about that for a long time. Rether those motors are hit or miss.

yeah this engine was suppose to go into the f150 in 07' I believe but with the navistar fall out ford only put it in the LCF. Also I think another reason ford decided against this motor was that it was a v6 instead of a v8 platform.

I drove one of those for work when I was delivering beds. It blew a head gasket and left me stranded in south central Ohio for Hours. Ideal Lease is where it was from and they were not very helpful on retrieving it. Filled it with water twice and drove it 80 miles to the nearest open U-haul and dropped it off for a GMC top kick.

Anyhow story aside it moved that little box truck pretty good until she popped.
