Tourque converter going out

My truck has been dieing when I put it in reverse. Not everytime but it happens most of the time. Never happens in drive.

I think it is my tourque converter going out from what I have been reading....

This is the only problem I have had with the drivetrain in 2 years that I have had it.

If it is a real expensive fix...... Someone might be getting a deal on a truck.,,

How expensive for a stock replacement? anyone is Southern Illinois know how to do this?

also, it only shudders in reverse and stops but once i get going no problems...

IS THIS SOMETHING CAN CAN EXPLODE IN MY TRANNY WHILE DRIVING?

Has the trans been slipping? and what temps are you seeing from the trans? If your in need of a new TQ then might as well upgrade...your looking anywhere from 600 on parts to where ever you want to go.....

it has been slipping a little. seems only when it is cold and i get rolling. Once I am warmed up and driving everything is fine.

I can hold out... now my question is if it is going out slowly... is it going to explode on me while driving?

As long as you baby it may last alittle while longer...Usually when the TQ goes your trans temps will high and will still have reverse..with losing reverse that sounds like your trans is on the way out.

Its not doing it past few days. I Let the truck idle for twenty minutes in the morning in the cold and it stopped doing it. lol drove it around. Did not hear anything funny
